In the summer of 2022, all university hospitals in North Rhine-Westphalia went on strike. The strike lasted 11 weeks. It ended with a collective agreement that has been in force valid across all university hospitals in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1 January 2023.
Jonas Alter happened to be at a strike demonstration and documented the strike right up to the end, capturing the strike atmosphere, the anger and the enthusiasm of the colleagues. The film also conveys a very vivid picture of the state of the German healthcare system as a whole.
