They wanted to set up a union of temporary agency workers and were suspended.

Since the beginning of the 70s workers had been very militant in the region and carried out big strikes. This movement was crushed when police shot into a mass demonstration in 1984. Since then many factories have been relocated and split, permanent workers were replaced by temporary workers.
