New wave of protest in Tunisia

Seven years after the movement that kicked Ben Ali out of power, protests are back in Tunisia on a big scale. They started on Sunday 7 January with small demonstrations, but since then they have spread to more than twenty towns and have included confrontations with the police and looting. They are directed against the rising cost of living, rising taxes, and the auterity politics of the government.

This video was made by the collective Nawaat in a poor neighborhood of Tebourba (Tborba), in which one of the protesters was killed by the police on Monday 8 January 2018.
