The Medvedkin Groups: from Sochaux to Besançon

Interview with Bruno Muel (April 2014) on the history of the Medvedkine groups.

The Medvedkine groups were groups of film technicians and factory workers in France who decided to make documentaries together in order to show the realities of factory life and their struggle against exploitation. The experience, initiated by Chris Marker, started in Besancon in 1967 and continued in 1968 with the creation of another Medvedkine Group in Sochaux, around film-makers such as Bruno Muel and young workers of a Peugeot factory.
